Vale Helen Jordan
Members of the Geelong Chamber Music Society will be saddened to learn of the death last Sunday evening, peacefully, at her new home in Ivanhoe, of our Life Member, former President and founding Secretary, Helen Jordan.
Helen was effectively the founder and moving spirit behind GCMS. Her energy and generosity touched us all. Her love of music, interest in young musicians, and commitment to the Geelong community will again be honoured next Sunday, when the Helen Jordan Prize will be awarded to the Regional winner of the Australian Youth Classical Music Competition.
As promised, the Committee of the Geelong Chamber Music Society respectfully advises Members and friends that the Funeral Mass for our late Life Member and friend, Helen Jordan, will be celebrated next Friday, June 10 at 1.30 p.m. at St Bernard’s Church, 69 Fryers Road, Belmont, and afterwards at the Barrabool Hills Cemetery, Highton. The Jordan family have invited all friends to “celebrate and remember Helen’s marvellous life."
