Mahler Symphony No.1 (arr. Klaus Simon)

The students and staff of ANAM never fail to present unique concerts and this will be no exception! Klaus Simon is a German pianist and conductor and has arranged several of Mahler's symphonies for chamber orchestra or chamber ensemble.

Ensemble Liaison made their first appearance for GCMS in 2014 and return with the ANAM orchestra to present this unique arrangement of a much respected work. Audience reactions will be interesting!

Ensemble members are Timothy Young (piano), Svetlana Bogosavljevic (cello) and David Griffiths (clarinet). Timothy has been head of piano at ANAM for over 20 years and brings his wealth of experience to leading this performance. Svetlana boasts a truly international career and presently teaches cello at Monash University. David's name is synonymous with new, young composers and as a great advocate of their work is respected Australia wide.
